Dr. Claire LeBlanc
Principal

 

Prior to beingnamed Principal of Ocean Lakes High School on June 21, 2016, Dr. Le Blanc served as an Assistant Principal at Ocean Lakes for six years.Preceding that, she was a long time Science teacher, athletic trainer, and coach in VBCPS.Dr. Le Blanc completed her undergraduate work in Kinesiology at the College of William and Mary, where she was a four-year member of the basketball and track teams.She earned a Master of Education at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, an Education Specialist degree from the University of Virginia, and a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership from Old Dominion University.

Mr. J. Michael King
MSA Coordinator

 

Mr. King joined the administrative team at Ocean Lakes High School in August of 2014 as the Mathematics and Science Academy Coordinator. He began his career as a high school Science teacher with Pitt County Schools in 1999 and taught for 5 years before becoming an administrator in 2005. Between the years of 2006 and 2013 Mr. King served as an Assistant Principal and Principal at the middle and high school levels. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Science Education and Master’s degree in School Administration from East Carolina University.

 

Mr. R. Perez Gatling
Assistant Principal

 

Mr. Gatling joined the administrative team at Ocean Lakes High School in July of 2016. He began his professional career as a high school English teacher with Chesapeake Public Schools in 1992 and taught for 15 years before becoming an administrator in VBCPS in 2010. Mr. Gatling served as an Assistant Principal at Renaissance Academy for four years and atLynnhaven Middle School for one year. He also worked as an Employee Relations Specialist in the Department of Human Resources for a year. Mr. Gatling holds a Bachelor of Science in English Education from Fayetteville State University and a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Regent University.

 

Mr. James Imbriale
Assistant Principal

 

Mr. Imbriale joined the administrative team at Ocean Lakes High School in July of 2016. He began his career as a distribution clerk in Supply Services, where he worked for 3 yearswhile becoming certified to teach. Mr. Imbriale taught Social Studies at Frank W. Cox High School for 10 years, before becoming the School Improvement Specialist at Princess Anne Middle School for 2 years. In 2011, Mr. Imbriale got his administrative start as an Administrative Assistant at Cox. He was transferred to Green Run High School in the same capacity from 2012-2014. Mr. Imbriale served as an Assistant Principal at Virginia Beach Middle School for two years before being moved to Landstown High. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from Saint Vincent College and a Master of Educational Leadership and Administration from Regent University.

 

Mrs. Leah Nelson
Assistant Principal

 

Mrs. Nelson has been a part of the Dolphin Family since 2005. She began her career as a middle school band director at Corporate Landing Middle School in 2001. She taught band at Ocean Lakes High School for 6 years before becoming the School Improvement Specialist, then anAdministrative Assistant, and now Assistant Principal. Mrs. Nelson holds a Bachelor of Music Performance from James Madison University and a Master of Music Education from Old Dominion University. Her Supervision and Administration endorsement is from George Washington University.

 

Mrs. Darcy ParkerAssistant Principal

 

Mrs. Parker joined the administrative team at Ocean Lakes High School in July of 2015. She previously served on the administrative teams at Kempsville High School and Landstown High School. Mrs. Parker taught Science for 8 years, working at both Landstown Middle School and Renaissance Academy during that time. She was named Renaissance's Teacher of the Year in 2011. Mrs. Parker graduated from the University of George Washington with a Master's degree in Educational Leadership and Administration. She earned a Bachelor's of Science degree from Mary Washington College and further studied at Old Dominion University to obtain her teaching endorsement. Mrs. Parker and her husband have a son attending Ocean Lakes High School.

 

Mrs. Dorothy Neal

School Improvement Specialist

 

Ms. Neal has been part of the Dolphin Family for 11 years. She is a product of Virginia Beach City Public Schools, graduating from Kellam High School. She began her career with the VBCPS division in 2005 as a Business Education Teacher at Tallwood High School and transferred to Ocean Lakes High School in 2006 in the same capacity. During her teaching career, she earned her National Board Certification and was named the Technical and Career Education Teacher of the Year in 2013. Ms. Neal joined the administrative team in January 2016 as the School Improvement Specialist. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from St. Leo College, a Master of Arts degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Regent University, and a Post Master's Certification in Educational Leadership and Administration from The George Washington University.
