Prior to being named Principal of Ocean Lakes High School on June 21, 2016, Dr. Le Blanc served as an Assistant Principal at Ocean Lakes for six years.  Preceding that, she was a long time Science teacher, athletic trainer, and coach in VBCPS.  Dr. Le Blanc completed her undergraduate work in Kinesiology at the College of William and Mary, where she was a four-year member of the basketball and track teams.  She earned a Master of Education at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, an Education Specialist degree from the University of Virginia, and a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership from Old Dominion University.

Mr. King joined the administrative team at Ocean Lakes High School in August of 2014 as the Mathematics and Science Academy Coordinator.  He began his career as a high school Science teacher with Pitt County Schools in 1999 and taught for 5 years before becoming an administrator in 2005.  Between the years of 2006 and 2013, Mr. King served as an Assistant Principal and Principal at the middle and high school levels.  He holds a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Science Education and Master’s degree in School Administration from East Carolina University.

IMAGE OF MR IMBRIALE    Mr. James Imbriale, Assistant Principal

Mr. Imbriale joined the administrative team at Ocean Lakes High School in July of 2016.  He began his career as a distribution clerk in Supply Services, where he worked for 3 years while becoming certified to teach. Mr. Imbriale taught Social Studies at Frank W. Cox High School for 10 years, before becoming the School Improvement Specialist at Princess Anne Middle School for 2 years. In 2011, Mr. Imbriale got his administrative start as an Administrative Assistant at Cox.  He was transferred to Green Run High School in the same capacity from 2012-2014.  Mr. Imbriale served as an Assistant Principal at Virginia Beach Middle School for two years before being moved to Landstown High.  He holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from Saint Vincent College and a Master of Educational Leadership and Administration from Regent University.

   Mrs. Amanda M. Malbon, Assistant Principal

Mrs. Malbon is a 2005 OLHS graduate and is so excited to be home! She began her career in education as a science teacher at Virginia Beach Middle School, where she taught 8th grade physical science and Earth Science for 6 years. In 2016, Mrs. Malbon joined the Department of Teaching and Learning as the Secondary Science Instructional Specialist and in 2018 was promoted to Secondary Science Coordinator. Mrs. Malbon holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology for Secondary Education and Master’s of Science in Educational Leadership, both from Old Dominion University.


   Mrs. Leah Nelson, Assistant Principal

Mrs. Nelson has been a part of the Dolphin Family since 2005.  She began her career as a middle school band director at Corporate Landing Middle School in 2001.  She taught band at Ocean Lakes High School for 6 years before becoming the School Improvement Specialist, then an Administrative Assistant, and now Assistant Principal.  Mrs. Nelson holds a Bachelor of Music Performance from James Madison University and a Master of Music Education from Old Dominion University.  Her Supervision and Administration endorsement is from George Washington University.

   Mr. Steven Oberlander, Assistant Principal

Mr. Oberlander joined the administrative team at Ocean Lakes High School in August of 2018.  He began his career as a school counselor at Cox High School in 2007.  He also worked as a guidance department chair at Virginia Beach Middle School and Lynnhaven Middle School.  He was an administrative assistant at Bayside Middle School in 2017.  Mr. Oberlander holds a Bachelor in Business Administration from St. Leo University, a Masters of Arts in Urban Education from Norfolk State University, a Masters of Science in Management from Troy University, and has an endorsement in Administration and Supervision from the University of Virginia.

Ms. Dorothy Neal, School Improvement Specialist

Ms. Neal has been part of the Dolphin Family since 2006.  She began her career with the VBCPS division in 2005 as a Business Education Teacher at Tallwood High School and transferred to Ocean Lakes High School in 2006 in the same capacity. During her teaching career, she earned her National Board Certification and was named the Technical and Career Education Teacher of the Year in 2013. Ms. Neal joined the administrative team in January 2016 as the School Improvement Specialist. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from St. Leo College, a Master of Arts degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Regent University, and a Post Master's Certification in Educational Leadership and Administration from The George Washington University.
