Prior to being named Principal of Ocean Lakes High School on June 21, 2016, Dr. Le Blanc served as an Assistant Principal at Ocean Lakes for six years.  Preceding that, she was a long time Science teacher, athletic trainer, and coach in VBCPS. Dr. Le Blanc completed her undergraduate work in Kinesiology at the College of William and Mary, where she was a four-year member of the basketball and track teams. She earned a Master of Education at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, an Education Specialist degree from the University of Virginia, and a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership from Old Dominion University.

Mr. King joined the administrative team at Ocean Lakes High School in August of 2014 as the Mathematics and Science Academy Coordinator. He began his career as a high school Science teacher with Pitt County Schools in 1999 and taught for 5 years before becoming an administrator in 2005.  Between the years of 2006 and 2013, Mr. King served as an Assistant Principal and Principal at the middle and high school levels.  He holds a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Science Education and Master’s degree in School Administration from East Carolina University.

IMAGE OF MR IMBRIALE    Mr. James Imbriale, Assistant Principal

Mr. Imbriale joined the administrative team at Ocean Lakes High School in July of 2016.  He began his career as a distribution clerk in Supply Services, where he worked for 3 years while becoming certified to teach. Mr. Imbriale taught Social Studies at Frank W. Cox High School for 10 years, before becoming the School Improvement Specialist at Princess Anne Middle School for 2 years. In 2011, Mr. Imbriale got his administrative start as an Administrative Assistant at Cox.  He was transferred to Green Run High School in the same capacity from 2012-2014.  Mr. Imbriale served as an Assistant Principal at Virginia Beach Middle School for two years before being moved to Landstown High.  He holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from Saint Vincent College and a Master of Educational Leadership and Administration from Regent University.

IMAGE OF AMANDA MALBON   Mrs. Amanda M. Malbon, Assistant Principal

Mrs. Malbon is a 2005 OLHS graduate and is so excited to be home! She began her career in education as a science teacher at Virginia Beach Middle School, where she taught 8th grade physical science and Earth Science for 6 years. In 2016, Mrs. Malbon joined the Department of Teaching and Learning as the Secondary Science Instructional Specialist and in 2018 was promoted to Secondary Science Coordinator. Mrs. Malbon holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology for Secondary Education and Master’s of Science in Educational Leadership, both from Old Dominion University.


 IMAGE OF LEAH NELSON  Mrs. Leah Nelson, Assistant Principal

Mrs. Nelson has been a part of the Dolphin Family since 2005.  She began her career as a middle school band director at Corporate Landing Middle School in 2001.  She taught band at Ocean Lakes High School for 6 years before becoming the School Improvement Specialist, then an Administrative Assistant, and now Assistant Principal.  Mrs. Nelson holds a Bachelor of Music Performance from James Madison University and a Master of Music Education from Old Dominion University.  Her Supervision and Administration endorsement is from George Washington University.

     Mrs. Jessica Pagán, Assistant Principal


Mrs. Pagán joined the Ocean Lakes administrative team as the Administrative Assistant in October of the 2021-2022 school year. Preceding that, she was a Special Education teacher and coach in VBCPS. She began her career in education as a Spanish teacher with Petersburg City Public Schools in 2009. Mrs. Pagán holds an Ed.S., educational leadership and administration from The George Washington University, a Master of Education, special education from Virginia State University, a Bachelor of Arts, international relations, and a Bachelor of Arts, foreign language both from Virginia Commonwealth University. In addition, she is a graduate of Salem High School. 


           
IMAGE OF CARRIE GANTT  Dr. Carrie Gantt, Administrative Assistant

Dr. Gantt joined the administrative team at Ocean Lakes HS in August of 2022. She began her career in Virginia Beach City Public Schools as a teacher in the International Baccalaureate Academy at Princess Anne HS where she taught English and Virginia Teachers for Tomorrow. In 2016, she transferred to Kellam HS where she taught Dual Enrollment English 12 and continued to build the division's Virginia Teachers for Tomorrow program.  Dr. Gantt is a National Board Certified Teacher, the 2014 Virginia Region II Teacher of the Year, and the 2014 VBCPS Citywide Teacher of the Year.  She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Secondary Education from Clemson University, a Master of Arts degree in English from Old Dominion University, an Education Specialist's degree in K-12 Educational leadership from Regent University, and a Doctor of Education degree in Educational Psychology from Regent University.
